Jan M. Currah, BSAg, DVM
up on a commercial cow calf operation in the western parkland region of
Manitoba started her love of agriculture at an early age. Jan was actively involved in all aspects of
the family business and loved growing up in a rural setting.
completed a degree in Agriculture majoring in animal science at the University
of Saskatchewan in 2004. While in the Ag
program, she met her future husband Josh.
She spent a year working for the CFIA before starting her veterinary
degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.
graduating in 2009, Jan has spent time in a mixed animal practice. Although enjoying her work with small
animals, her real passion is for large animal - Jan loves both bovine and equine work. She has a keen interest in bovine herd
health and is focused on providing a high quality service while helping to
increase returns for producers.
spare time, Jan loves being outside – camping, canoeing or spending time in the
garden. She also loves to cook and bake
and spend time with family and friends. Jan and Josh can be found frequently making the long trek back East to their family farms!!

Jennifer L. Currah, DVM, MAppSc, MRCVS
Jen (better known by her childhood nickname Nif, from JenNifer!) grew up on the family farm in SW Manitoba and headed to Winnipeg where she completed 3 years of an Animal Science degree at the University of Manitoba. In 1999, Nif was admitted to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. In 2003, Nif graduated and decided to head to Australia to check out veterinary practice there.
Nif worked in a mixed practice on arrival in South Australia and soon after met Paul, the bloke who is now her husband!! In 2005, Nif came back to Canada for 8 months and spent 5 months as a Clinical Associate on the Large Animal Medicine Service at the WCVM in Saskatoon. She headed back to Australia mid 2005 and locummed in a 90% small animal practice, a 50% equine practice and a 90% dairy position in a mixed practice. In 2006, Nif and Paul headed to the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales (north of Sydney). Nif started her Masters of Applied Science in Wildlife Health and Population Management and worked at a 90% small animal practice.
At the beginining of 2008, Nif and Paul sold their house and headed for Europe. After 6 months touring Europe, they headed back to Canada and arrived in Strathmore in September of 2008. They have been here since and enjoy the community. Paul plays Australian Rules Football and cricket in Calgary and always has a project on the go! Nif is recruited to go along as the cheer squad. Nif, Paul, George the cat and Wally the goofy dog are happily settled in Strathmore!
